I purchased a copy of RedHat Linux 7.1 back around 2001 from an electronics store, back when software was still sold on store shelves.  As I recall it was an impulse purchase, but I was able to get RedHat installed and running on my PC along side Windows.  Over the years I have experimented with various distributions of Linux, but Windows was the primary operating system until 2014.

In 2014, with XP fading into the sunset and Windows 10 "free upgrade" balloons nagging me to dump Windows 7, I dove into Debian Linux.  I haven't looked back.  I've been able to get everything set up and running through Debian that I had running in Windows.  The looks of the software may not be as polished as the sofware in the Windows world, but it works just as good.
